SECOND LEAGUE GAME
It was great to see some new players joining the
Osterley side. With new faces and players not having played together
it was going to be difficult against Old Isleworthians who train weekly
together and are determined to win the league this season and return
from the whence they came. Osterley had players out of their normal
positions on the day and found Old I's Captain's side-steps a little
difficult to handle ; If only Tommo, Tansiri, Dafyd or Gerry had been
back row on the day he would have only done it once I'm sure.
The game was played well by both sides. Old Isleworthians
forwards being the stronger pack on the day disrupting our possession.
The game seemed to stop and start so much that there was no continuity
to play at all. Mike's injury to his ankle required medical attention
and with an ambulance around this stopped the play for 20 mins. It has
been noted that he loves the attention.
Thankfully he hasn't broken anything except
his pride. So, he will be out for a while though and we all wish him
well. Lets hope he can still drive to the hospital if the labour starts.
With Osterley growing stronger each week we will be looking to the
return match in the later part of the Season.
GREAT EFFORT FROM ALL. WELL DONE.
