10/9/2005 - Osterley v West London

This match was unfortunately cancelled however, a great game of eight aside was played in the rain instead between ourselves.

It showed true spirit from ALL that turned up and was good for morale to have a game despite the odds.

Well done to everybody who made themselves available this Saturday. This fixture was from the Fixture Exchange and against a side that is a league above us.

Nevertheless, we showed plenty of determination against a reasonably strong side. We had one player less throughout the whole game and still managed to keep the score to a respectable 12 - 20 defeat. Had more players been available I'm sure this would have been a much different scoreline.

Opportunities were there for us to have possibly won this match but due to a number of knock-ons through poor ball handling skills, their one extra player and a number of our NEW players having not played together before. We just didn't quite have that extra edge on them.

Our defence and tackling was brilliant throughout, great support play and this all looks promising for the rest of the season. The great tackling prevented a determined Feltham side scoring more than they did. All-in-all a fine performance for an Osterley side that is growing stronger each time we play.
