Saturday 22nd October 2005 - THIRD
LEAGUE GAME
OSTERLEY (34) v NOTHOLT (19)
Well what can I say. This goes to show what we can do with 17 players.
Yes 17 players for the first time this year.
We managed to get a great result without a sin binning. Perhaps this
was due to Tom not playing this week. But the game was far from perfect
I think the referee wanted to see if he could penalise every one of
the Osterley players for some spurious offence. Anybody that didn't
get a penalty awarded against them for some reason I'll buy a pint.
Oh ! Never mind that was all of you including me. But credit to you,
as nobody was penalised for the normal Osterley chatback.
The past players who had a great meal and drink, loved it. Osterley
win again on Past players day, it's seems like it's rigged every year.
The large Northolt forwards pushed us off the park all day, so I'll
be putting you all on a diet of beer and pies for the future games against
Northolt to compete with the weight difference. Their fast backs were
great tackle practice and didn't get break our defence. The score line
tells it all.
Man of the match was probably Geoff for his tries, fantastic interception
(initially created by Dan P.) and brilliant kicking. You had a Great
game.
First time appearances from Luke P. and Dan P. You too both had a great
game and we look forward to seeing you both again next week. As for
Dafydd, that's the quickest we've seen you move this year scoring that
try. It was due to the dust off your heels blinding the opposition that
you didn't get caught. Go speedy......
Thanks again to all who played and especially for the availability of
Rommer, Andy, R., Mike N., Charlie M., Ryan L., and Ryan J.
